Our delightful Brasserie is bright and airy with wonderful views of our secluded gardens. It’s perfect for enjoying a chilled glass of wine in the summer, sharing a jug of Pimms with friends or a wonderfully indulgent Afternoon Tea of delicious sandwiches and creamy cakes.
The Brasserie is a rare and perfect fusion of contemporary furnishings and historic medieval features. Characteristics such as the stunning original stone floor - discovered quite by accident! – magnificent fireplaces and vibrant stained glass windows all blend together to provide a wonderfully informal atmosphere in which you can truly relax and enjoy the exquisite surroundings.
Designed by the highly respected Chelsea-based interior designers,
Todhunter Earle, it features stylish oak furniture in a variety of finishes from Danish oil to a dark stain, while the floor combines the original exposed brickwork with new stripped oak. Colours are mainly neutral but brought alive by a vibrant, yet refreshing peacock blue used on the Eames chairs, which is also cleverly matched by the table glassware and featured in the long, hand embroidered drapes. The open-work screens either side of the Brasserie entrance have been crafted by a local Suffolk metalworker to offer some privacy for diners.
The Brasserie is open for lunch from 12.00-2.00pm and for dinner from 5.30-9.00pm.Click to view our
