‘Magical Protection – How our Ancestors Defended their Buildings’
In the comfort of our high-tech, 21st century lives, it is hard to comprehend the superstition and fear that surrounded people in centuries gone by. This talk will look at the various ways in which people averted evil from their homes, crops and livestock.

We’re delighted to be joined on Wednesday 8th November, by Jane Gosling, who will be talking about the many superstitions of our ancestors in centuries gone by and how they believed they were protecting their property. Jane Gosling’s depth of knowledge is immense, having been the manager of the National Trust’s Lavenham Guildhall for 18 years. She is the Chairman of the Suffolk Historic Buildings Group, Trustee of the Suffolk Architectural Heritage Trust and Chairman of the Lavenham Society.

Come along and join like minded folk, for an evening of fine food, good company and a glimpse into our shared history.
