Our lives are pretty hectic, particularly at this time of year, when we brace ourselves for the Christmas rush, buying presents, writing cards and making sure we have everything we need in the cupboards to make Christmas really special and of course catching up with family and friends that we just don’t have time for as much as we wish we could.
That’s why sometimes it’s nice to let other people take the strain. Here at The Swan in Lavenham, we have the perfect location and rooms for Private Dining, giving you the chance to catch up and spend time with those close to you. The Swan’s 15th century character is in abundance throughout the hotel, big comfortable sofas and wood burning stoves all add to the comfort of this 4 star AA Rosette hotel.
We have a choice of four separate dining rooms, that have all been recently refurbished and all have a unique character. The McCallum room for instance, seats upto 22 guests and is quite stunning with it’s high vaulted ceiling, large working fireplace and three large windows, offering plenty of light during the day. Then we have the Suffolk Room which seats upto 32 guests, followed by the larger Wool Hall that seats 34 guests and then The Gallery Restaurant that seats upto 100 guests.
All of the above dining options can choose from a selection of menus, so whether it’s a family gathering or a more formal affair The Swan can cater for all of your needs.
Lavenham is situated on the A1141, about 2 miles east of the A134, between Sudbury and Bury St. Edmunds. Half an hour from Newmarket, an hour from Stansted and forty minutes from Cambridge. The Swan is situated on the corner of the High Street and Water Street.
