Murder Mystery Night at The Swan at Lavenham

Join us for our first Murder Mystery Dinner event here at The Swan, this interactive event is based around the old story of a young lady who tragically hung herself in the old Woolhall back in 1899. 

Tickets include a three-course dinner and are available for £80 per head.

Please note - Tickets are limited and so we advise booking as soon as possible in order to take part. This is an interactive event and seating will be on mixed tables with your fellow guests.

Storyline by Murder in Mind

Back in 1899, a lady by the name of Victoria Bellam, tragically hung herself in the attic of the Woolhall in Lavenham Manor.

Her story is one that was abundant in those days. She was used by the son of Sir Michael Howard, Julian, who promised her the world, but when he discovered that she was pregnant with his baby, he left her penniless and without any help. She was a housemaid in the Manor and  Sir Michael and Lady Howard helped Victoria as much as they could, but in the end, she could not cope with the shame of it. It was on 7th November 1899 that she hung herself, leaving behind a baby boy.

Back to the present day in 2024, it has been 125 years since Victoria's death, and the now owner of the 600-year-old Woolhall in Lavenham Manor, Sir George Dowling, has organised a gathering to try and determine whether there is any truth in the rumour that the house is haunted by Victoria’s ghost.

He's invited leading psychic medium, Anja Stravinski, to see if she can enlighten him as to what is going on.

Order of the evening

6:30 PM: Guests arrive

7:00 PM: Introduction and Act One

7:30 PM: Starter course is served

8:15 PM: Act Two

9:00 PM: Main Course is served

9:30 PM: Act Three

10:00 PM: Dessert Course is served

10:30 PM: Conclusion and Murder Reveal
