The Swan at Lavenham awarded prestigious Four AA Red Stars

The Swan at Lavenham has been awarded with one of the most significant benchmarks of excellence in the UK hospitality industry.

We have been recognised with the coveted Four Red Star Award by the AA, placing us among the AA’s Inspectors’ Choice Hotels - one of only a handful of hotels given the accolade this year.

This is our latest award and comes after we won Four Silver Stars from the AA, alongside two AA Rosettes for The Gallery Restaurant and AA Recommended status for Weavers’ House Spa back in June.

It is the newest stamp of quality alongside being cherry-picked for the Pride of Britain Hotels selection.

“We are utterly thrilled and humbled to be recognised as one of the AA’s Inspectors’ Choice hotels making our hotel among the highest quality in the whole of the UK.

“This award reflects the passion and commitment of our exceptional team, who go above and beyond to make The Swan a truly special place for every guest.

“We are incredibly proud to be part of Suffolk’s hospitality story and look forward to continuing to deliver unforgettable experiences.”

David Scott, Chief Executive of The Hotel Folk

The recognition comes after an overnight inspection, where inspectors praised its blend of medieval charm, contemporary luxury, and warm hospitality.

Over the past year, The Swan has continued to invest heavily in the property and guest experience.

Bedrooms and public spaces have been enhanced to ensure modern comforts sit seamlessly alongside centuries-old features.

Weavers’ House Spa which is celebrating its tenth birthday has gone from strength to strength. This year has seen the spa shortlisted in the Best Boutique Spa Hotel category at the Good Spa Guide Awards as well as achieving both a 5 Bubble Spa rating ten years in a row and AA Recommended Spa status.

Finally, culinary creativity has also been in the spotlight, with The Gallery Restaurant awarded two AA Rosettes for its menus that showcase the very best produce, complemented by innovative new dishes in the Mess Call 487 brasserie.

The team’s commitment to accessibility has been praised, with the introduction of clear, hotel-specific accessibility videos subtitled for visibility needs and supported with written guides.
